The City Map Project is a series of digital photo-collages
created with the computer from my own photographs.
The series is about individual mapping and knowledge of a city.
In my case, the city is New York City, but the experience I am
interested in is a universal, personal sense of place, wherever
that may be. It is both a physical place and a psychological one.
The imagery is of markings on the streets, walls and sidewalks
of Manhattan. There are occasional additions of details of my own
paintings or scans of antique postcards. Rarely I use an image
from a place outside of New York City.
The photo-collages are available as Limited Edition Archival Inkjet Prints.
Sizes are variable.
Depending on the image, they could be printed up to 7 ' in height.
